KATIE HOLMES makes her first public appearance since her divorce, lands another new job

Since Katie Holmes' sudden split from Tom Cruise in June, she's kept herself far away from any red carpets, and has instead settled into life as a full-time Manhattanite with her daughter Suri. However, all that changed last night when she made her first public appearance since her divorce, and it sounds like we're going to be a seeing a lot more of the newly single star in the near future.
Looking effortlessly stylish in a black button-down shirt and a shimmery gold skirt with beading around the waist, the 33-year-old was on hand at the Style Awards at Lincoln Center on Wednesday night to present Carolina Herrera with the designer of the year award. At the event, which helped kick off New York Fashion Week, Holmes happily posed for photos with Herrera, chatted up "Smash" star Katharine McPhee, and hugged actress Amy Adams. People magazine reported that Holmes "seemed like she was in a great mood" at the awards show. "Everybody knows she loves fashion, so she was happy to be here."
[Related: Katie Holmes vs. Anne Hathaway — fashion faceoff]
Holmes' presence at New York Fashion Week will be much greater this weekend when she and her longtime stylist, Jeanne Yang, hold their first formal presentation for their Holmes & Yang line. The event, which will take place Sunday, is expected to be quite a big deal and will be held at "the tents" in Lincoln Center, which are often reserved for the more seasoned designers. In a new interview with WWD, Holmes, who started the line with Yang in 2008, said the two decided to do a formal presentation this year "because the brand is growing and expanding … We thought we would have something a little more substantial." The now-single mom also appreciates that the job is family friendly. "When Jeanne and I decided to do this — we're both mothers; our daughters are very good friends — and I said, 'Jeanne, this has to be something that we enjoy, because we want to do it with our girls here,'" she told the paper.

Holmes, who reportedly walked away from her marriage from Cruise with nothing other than "modest" child support, has also inked a lucrative new deal to be the first celebrity face of Bobbi Brown cosmetics, and in fall 2013 Holmes will have her own collection for the brand. The deal came about eight weeks ago — just after she was said to have "blindsided" Cruise by filing for divorce. Brown said they met and quickly bonded over afternoon tea. "It was, 'Oh, my God, you would be the perfect face for Bobbi,' Brown told WWD. "We weren't looking for a celebrity, just a cool, amazing woman who would fit with our brand. And she's just ridiculously naturally beautiful." Holmes, who will appear in ad campaigns as well as in-store displays for the line, joked: "I will be watching over every woman as she buys her lipstick."
[Related: Suri Cruise has two contrasting lifestyles following Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise's divorce]
Also on the horizon is the actress' return to Broadway. Four years after appearing in Arthur Miller's "All My Sons," her latest project, "Dead Accounts," opens November 29. "It's a medium I really enjoy," she told WWD of the rigorous world of theater, which will require her to perform nightly. "I'm a schedule person. I like to have a routine. You're also very in touch with your audience — they're very much a part of the show, which is obviously something you don't have in film. You get to know people in a different way. The matinee audience is obviously very different from the Saturday night audience. You learn about material — you really start to understand what works and what doesn't. I think both film and stage are so challenging, but in different ways. With film, yeah, you have another take, but a lot of the time you're losing the light, so you better nail it on that take. I haven't found any part of acting to be easy."
That said, Holmes sure does appear to be acting quite happy with her fun, full new life. And she won't allow the constant media attention following her divorce get her down. "There are a lot of people with much bigger problems and who are less fortunate," she told WWD. "I try to keep it all in perspective."

CYNTHIA:POLICE RECOVERS 50 NUDE PICTURES......

Police detectives at the Area E Command, Lagos have said Cynthia Osokogu’s killers took pictures while sexually assaulting her.
The Area Commander, Damian Okoro, said, “The pictures are contained in a recovered black Compaq 610 laptop belonging to Nwabufor Okwuomo, one of the suspects who lured the deceased to Lagos.”
The laptop is also said to contain over 50 nude photographs of female victims who have fallen prey to the suspect.
Some of the photographs showed girls tied with rope and their mouths covered with cello tape with objects inserted in their private part.
Osokogu’s naked photographs also showed bites and wounds inflicted all over her.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation on Wednesday said it had concluded arrangements to sue the management of Cosmilla Hotel in Festac Town, Lagos, where Osokogu was murdered by ‘Black Berry friends’ over illegal operation.
The deceased was allegedly drugged, raped and dispossessed of her belongings and later killed.
The corporation also said it had issued a query to the management of the hotel to explain why had refused to register with it in accordance with laid-down rules and regulations.
A statement issued by NTDC’s Director of Communications, Mr. Akin Onipede in Abuja quoted the Director-General of the corporation, Chief Segun Runsewe as saying that would “file former charges against the management of Cosmilla Hotel for  illegal operation since it was not registered with the corporation.”
He said, “The development which was confirmed by the Director General of the Corporation, Otunba Olusegun Runsewe revealed that a former query had been issued to the hotel to which it had replied.”
“According to Otunba Runsewe, the management of the Hotel has already admitted that they had not registered with the Corporation which showed that the hotel is operating illegally.”
Runsewe insisted that the law would be followed  but added that the NTDC would not interfere in the ongoing investigation by the security agencies.
He said, “We will allow them (security agencies) to do their job after which we will go to court.”

LOUBOUTIN WINS RIGHT TO RED SOLES ON APPEAL

Christian Louboutin has won legal support for his exclusive right to use red lacquered soles—as long as the rest of the shoe isn’t red.......

 #Ilike...........

A US federal appeals court upheld Louboutin’s trademark of ‘China Red’ soles, contested after the luxury shoe designer sued Yves Saint Laurent over its introduction of a line of monochrome shoes, including an all-red style, in 2011.
Initially, a New York judge disputed the basis of Louboutin’s trademark and declined to grant an injunction against the sale of YSL’s shoes. The appeals process, particularly emotional for the designer,  whose signature flourish was at risk, found that Louboutin has the right to protect the use of red soles, provided they contrast the rest of the shoe.
‘The District Court's conclusion that a single colour can never serve as a trademark in the fashion industry was based on an incorrect understanding of the doctrine of aesthetic functionality and was therefore in error,’ an appeals judge wrote.
The red outsole is ‘therefore a distinctive symbol that qualifies for trademark protection,’ the court added.
Unusually, both Louboutin and YSL portray the decision as a victory. YSL gets to continue retailing its mono-colour shoes, while Louboutin has been assured that mass retailers will not be permitted to copy its widely recognised soles.
‘We are extremely pleased and gratified that the Appellate Court found our key arguments to be correct: first that color can and does serve as a trademark in the fashion industry, and that Christian Louboutin’s world famous Red Sole trademark is valid, protectable and enforceable,' Louboutin said in a statement welcoming the decision.
‘As we have said throughout these proceedings and we reiterate now, especially in the light of this decision, we will continue to take all steps available to protect our trademark.’

USAIN BOLT TO PLAY FOR MAN UTD AGAINST REAL MADRID...........

LONDON (AFP) – Jamaican sprint star Usain Bolt, an avowed Manchester United fan, could appear for the Premier League club in a charity game next summer, according to manager Alex Ferguson.
"Usain's a character and a big United fan," Ferguson told Inside United magazine of Bolt, fresh from his second successive triple gold haul at the London Olympics.
"But it's interesting he says he'd like to play in a charity game. It could be brilliant, and next year when we play Real Madrid's Legends again, there could be opportunities to bring him up and see how he does."
That game is scheduled for June 3, 2013, at Old Trafford, but comes in mid-season for Bolt ahead of several lucrative Diamond League meets and the August 10-18 world championships in Moscow.

I can be 70years and still be single,if i don't meet the right man......BIMBO AKINTOLA

“I will be 70 and still be single if I do not believe honestly that I have found the right person. We are all on earth as individuals. Some of us will marry; some of us will not. Some of us will have children, some of us will not. So I never judge myself according to other people’s standard.
Marriage is such a huge deal and I’m not in a hurry to go there. That’s the truth.
If you find maybe two of my ex’s, you will find out that I’ve had proposals. But I turned them down because at the end of the day, you are saying ‘I pick this person above everybody else in the
world, till death do us part.’ I had better believe that! If I don’t believe it, it’s not going to happen.
If I’d wanted to be married 15 times over, I would have. But I won’t marry for people, I will marry for me. When I find the person that makes me feel I can do this forever, then I am ready.” Bimbo Akintola, 37 intimated.....

What do you think about this?????

Omosexy and her new reality show......

The very affable Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde talks about her reality show and according to her:
“It’s just about me. A lot of young people from Africa want to know how a celebrity, a married woman with children live her day to day life.
A lot of people think maybe I don’t stay at home at all. All the busy questions you ask me in the interviews. So we are putting all of those in a visual format so then you can see for yourself and just have fun with it.
It is basically what I do every day. There is no scripting, none at all. I told them that if I find out they tempered with some of the content, I will be very mad at them because they have cheated me. Everything is very raw and my production crew believes in me. So I believe everything is going to be fine.
The ‘Real Me’ will premiere this month and it will be aired in 31 countries in Africa, the UK (Sky TV ) and selected TV stations in the US.

Snooki debuts new Son;Lorenzo Dominic....this is a different kind of love!

Snooki and Lorenzo (People)Meet the newest "Jersey Shore" meatball! Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi is introducing her newborn son Lorenzo Dominic to the world in the new issue of People. The pint-sized reality star and her fiance Jionni LaValle welcomed the little guy on August 26, after more than 24 hours in labor — but it was worth it. "It's a different kind of love that I never felt before," Snooki, 24, tells the magazine of Lorenzo, who sports bedazzled Italian flag booties as he snoozes in the cover photo.
Enzo, as Snooki and LaValle sometimes call him, got his name from a childhood pal of his father's. "We were going back and forth, and I just happened to think of Lorenzo," says LaValle, 25. "She loved it." As for the middle name, Dominic is in memory of Snooki's uncle who passed before the baby's birth. "I did it for my dad," she adds.
And now that she has her hands full with her son, don't expect to see her doing shots at Karma any time soon. "The partying is long gone," insists Snooki, who is currently filming Season 2 of her spin-off "Snooki & JWoww." (The sixth and final season of "Jersey Shore" premieres October 4.) "I'm a new person."
But it doesn't mean she's not thinking about partying. On Labor Day, Snooki told her Twitter followers to "Enjoy the sun & margaritas." When one fan asked her if it felt great to drink again, she wrote back, "I'm not yet, I'm breast feeding. But have one for me!

Woman remanded in prison for strangling church member

An Ebute Meta Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, on Tuesday remanded a 49-year-old woman, Josephine Jacob, in Kirikiri Prisons for allegedly strangling one of her church members to death.

Jacob who resides at No. 19, Omolore St., Shasha, Lagos, is standing trial on a one-count charge of murder.

Magistrate Joy Ugbomoiko said that the court had no jurisdiction to try the case.

“I hereby remand the defendant in prison, pending the outcome of the legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution,” Ugboimoko said.

The prosecutor, Cpl. Babaji Ishiaku, had told the court that the accused on August 19 strangulated one Margaret Safi, 58, to death.

“The defendant, who attended the same church and lives in the same house with the deceased, strangled her to death after they had a quarrel,” Ishiaku said.

He said that the incident took place at the deceased’s residence, No. 19, Omolore St., Shasha, Lagos.

According to him, the offence contravened Section 221 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State, 2011.

The case was adjourned till October 3 pending the Director of Public Prosecution’s advice.

Woman keeps baby in freezer for 10YEARS!!!

German prosecutors said Tuesday they had opened a manslaughter investigation against a 49-year-old woman after the corpse of a new-born baby girl was found in her freezer after 10 years.

The grisly find was made by her former husband on Friday when he defrosted the freezer in the house where they used to live, said prosecutors in the northern city of Flensburg.

It was not clear whether the baby was alive or dead when placed in the freezer, investigators said. There were no signs she had been violently treated but authorities confirmed the baby was not stillborn.

The woman, who has not been named, has admitted the baby was hers and said she was “in a state of complete exhaustion and hopelessness” at the time.

The couple already had three, now fully grown, children and divorced in 2009, prosecutors said.

The woman was released pending further investigations.

Munya finally marries his long time love Adiona Maboreke

Big Brother Africa star and film producer Munyaradzi Chidzonga and songbird Adiona Maboreke tied the knot at an intimate wedding held at the exquisite Rivertree Paungano in Chisipite over the weekend. Munya who was affectionately known as the “Diamond Boy” and now “Mr Diamond” was dressed in all white suit with a matching blue cravat while Adiona looked gorgeous in an all white designer wedding gown. Father Fenga of the Anglican Church solemnised the wedding under the Acacia tree that added a touching and sentimental element to the already blissful ceremony.
Adiona walked down the aisle looking resplendent in her gown and veil, the sight of which brought tears of joy to the eyes of many in the audience.

The couple then went for a photo shoot with close relatives and the bridal party.
The reception started with the bridal party performing the traditional “step-dance” for the gathering but they added a modern and youthful feel to it. A 36-year old woman, Mrs. Gloria Ugonnaya, has been arraigned before a Yaba Magistrate’s court in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, charged with assault.

Funke Akindele turns s good samaritan:saves an orange seller

I heard one gist over the weekend that Funke Akindele, beloved for her classical movie acts also turned a good samaritan offering support where it was needed in a timely manner. The narrative of what happned goes as this:
Funke Akindele was going to location when she stopped by a Mobil filling station to full her tank. When she was done filling up and about going out of the filling station, she saw some member’s of street cops arresting a walking orange seller. Upon seeing that, the star actress jumped out of her car and ran to the rescue of the orange seller. People living around the area witnessing what was happening were so surprised to see Funke and began murmuring whether it was JENIFA or not???
Funke then stood firm for the orange seller, arguing that nobody is pleased to be selling oranges under the sun, if not for situations, and that confiscating the oranges from the poor seller will only add up to her woes since it’s the only source of income she probably has. After making the strong arguments, it was all silent for a while after which the cops allowed the orange seller to go free and Funke dolled out some cash to the cops as an appreciation for their leniency.  Funke was compassionate and her gesture well appreciated

awww....Jennifer that was nice of you to do sha.......eku ishe oooohhhh

Ketura Hamilton denies birth of new baby with Jim Iyke YET......

‘Nollywood bad boy’ and top actor, Jim Iyke has repeatedly said he is a victim of bad press and he has said time and time again that there are haters everywhere trying to pull down his good image.
Recently, the said haters, smelled blood and went for the kill when a picture of his supposed fiancée, Jamaican model, Ketura Hamilton, was posted on Facebook with a baby purported to have been delivered by the model, setting adrift a rumor that the model has dumped Jim and had a baby for another man.
But extra probing into the issue suggests strongly that the relationship between Jim Iyke and his Jamaican model is as healthy as it can get. The reaction that came from the camp of the model after a probing question reads “Jim Iyke’s girlfriend, Ketura has not had a baby”.
“On the contrary, the model has only recently completed a fashion shoot for P. Diddy. However, the baby she referred to on her facebook is actually her god daughter recently delivered by former Nollywood producer Chinny who is now based here in the US and is a close friend of Ketura and Jim” added the spokesperson for Ketura.
Ketura and Jim Iyke have been going on with their relationship for years now and friends of the two love-birds are feverishly awaiting the announcement of a wedding date. “Yes, it is true. I have found the woman of my dreams and we are in love in all totality. She is the embodiment of all that I have been looking for; a tall, pretty, exotic and supremely intelligent woman.” Jim once said of Ketura in an interview.
The two made headlines some two years ago when Keturah threw for Jim a surprise birthday party at the rooftop lounge at Hotel Indigo in Manhattan.......

Lauren Conrad talks about her love life!!!

Lauren Conrad, 26, has been pretty private about her love life — well, you know, since 2009 when she stopped documenting it on TV in her sorta-reality show "The Hills." Which is why she chose not to speak publicly about what must have been a rather painful split from her boyfriend of three years, "My Boys" actor Kyle Howard, in June 2011. However, the former "Laguna Beach" star finally opened up about recovering from her heartbreak in the "Ask Lauren" advice column that she writes on her website. In response to a 25-year-old woman writing about the fact that she was sad her two best friends are engaged and she isn't yet, Conrad replied: "I don't think it's unusual to be nervous about feeling a bit behind relationship-wise when you are in your mid-twenties. One thing to keep in mind while you are attending weddings, showers, and other events celebrating your friends' relationships is that these aren't things you are missing out on. They are things you have to look forward to." Then, Conrad offered some insight from her personal experience. "I was in a similar place last year. Twenty-five, newly single, and helping one of my best friends plan her wedding, so I know how it can feel," she wrote. "It can be hard to feel like you have to start from scratch when you have invested so much time with a person, but shortly after my breakup I realized something: I wasn't losing the chance to have love — I was getting the opportunity to do it all over again."

Fortunately, Conrad, who also writes books, designs clothes, and helps oversee thebeautydepartment.com in addition to dishing advice, recently found a new love. She's been dating William Tell, 32, a University of Southern California law student, since friends set them up on Valentine's Day. They were even photographed on a romantic getaway in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in July. Could wedding bells be in their near future?

Man shoots his son in a bid to test his bullet proof charm

In a bid to test the potency of his newly acquired bulletproof "juju", a man, Ornguga Adega, of Agbatse village in Kwande local government area of Benue State, shot his only son dead while conducting a gunshot test on the boy.

The suspect, who was immediately apprehended by men of the Benue State Police Command, is currently facing trial at a Makurdi Chief Magistrate Court.

According to the First Information Report (FIR) by the police, the suspect and father of the ten-year-old had in August 2012 bought some charm from a native doctor with the belief that it was potent enough to prevent the penetration of bullets into his body.

He was said to have rubbed his "bulletproof" cream on the body of his son in order to verify its efficacy and potency in line with the instructions of the native doctor from whom he bought the charm.

According to the FIR, Adega fired a shot with his single barrel gun on the right leg of his son following which the bullet shattered the leg and also penetrated through to the left leg.

The boy was said to have bled profusely, but before his shocked and devastated father could get proper medical attention for him, the little boy bled to death.

When the case came up at the Makurdi Chief Magistrate Court, police prosecutor, Inspector Gabriel Egbonyi, said the accused was arrested at the process of investigating the cause of death of the young boy.

Egbonyi further told the court that the accused confessed to committing the crime and also acknowledged responsibility for the unfortunate incident which prompted further police investigation into the matter.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Dan Ogoh, ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the case to 12 September.

Birthday turns SOUR!!!

The birthday celebration of a 17-year-old female student of Yaba College of Technology, Omodesola Olusoji, turned sour last Wednesday as an unidentified school friend of hers poured a substance suspected to be a corrosive chemical on her.
PUNCH Metro learnt that it is a tradition in the 65-year-old institution for students to pour water on their friends on their birthdays as part of the celebration.

It was learnt that friends of Omodesola, a first year National Diploma student of Business Administration continued in the tradition and poured water on her while she was coming down the stairs at the PGD hostel.
However, one of them got hold of a keg of corrosive chemical kept in her hostel room, which she mistook for water, and poured it on Omodesola.
A student of the institution who preferred anonymity said Omodesola sustained burns on her face and her chest.
He said, “We actually learnt that her mother who is a senior lecturer in the school asked her not to come to school that day. But she lied to her that she had a test.
“I don’t think that malice was intended. The chemical the girl mistook for water was the one being used for the entrepreneurial development project.”
He added that Omodesola was initially taken to the school health centre, but was rejected because of the extent of her injuries.
Confirming the incident to our correspondent on the telephone, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, said Omodesola was currently receiving medical treatment at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital.
She said all efforts to get the school authorities to hand over the accused to the police had proved abortive.
She said, “On Thursday evening Omodesola’s father, Kayode, made a verbal report of the incident at the Sabo Police Division.
“The DPO has reached out to the school’s Chief Security Officer and the Students Affairs Unit to get the accused interrogated by the police for proper investigation of the matter but they have yet to do that.
“There is no official communication from the school authority to give us the reason behind that. The last time the DPO spoke with the CSO, he said the Rector wanted to deal with the matter internally.”
When our correspondent contacted the Public Relations Officer of the institution, Adekunle Adams, on the telephone, he said the college was working in collaboration with the parents of the victim to bring her back to normal.
He said, “Bathing people with water on their birthdays on the school campus, had been a norm amongst the students and they do this out of sheer youthful exuberance.
“In all fairness, the incident was purely accidental. The suspect in the case had been reporting at the unit investigating the matter and she had been remorseful. She was even part of those who rushed her to the health centre.
“The college is waiting for the medical report to know what our level of commitment will be in helping her recover fully.”
When asked if the college was preventing the police from doing their job, Adams said, “I’m not in the know of that.

Mother of five girls looking for a male child gives birth to quadruplets, hubby absconds

35-year-old Iyabo Oladunni, is a mother of five girls who has now been blessed with a set of quadruplets. She gave birth to the quadruplets  at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan. Iyabo, who lives in Ijaye Orile near Ibadan, Oyo State, with her husband, Olayemi Oladunni, is a tailor by profession, while her husband is a welder.
The mother of five girls before the birth of the quadruplets said that her aim and hope of having another baby after the five girls was to have a boy. But to her amazement, God gave her more than she requested and expected.

Moreover, Iyabo Oladunni said that the eldest of the first five girls, who is now 12 years old, lives with her father’s younger brother at Lagos. The second girl, 8-year-old, is presently in Nursery 3 in a school in Ijaye; the third born, a set of twins, are in Nursery 1 and the fifth girl, aged three years has not started schooling.
When asked how she feels about the birth of the babies, Iyabo said “I have mixed feelings about their deliveries. I’m partly happy and partly sad. I’m happy because I have a male which is my desire among the four children, and sad because I don’t have the wherewithal to take care of them in a rented room where we live.”
According to Iyabo, although the couple were both desirous to have a male child, it was amazing that her husband and the father of the quadruplets, Olayemi, took to his heels immediately he had an inkling a day to his wife’s delivery.
Recounting her husband’s reaction when he heard she was carrying four babies in her womb, Iyabo said “after a scan was carried out in the month of March this year, and it showed there were four babies in my womb, I was afraid and started crying.
‘”But the doctor who did the ultrasound test encouraged me to pray to God for assistance instead of weeping. The man also told me that God, who put them there, will definitely take care of them. When I got home after the scan, I told my husband about it and he kept asking me ‘where do I take the four babies to?’”
She, however, pleaded with her husband wherever he is that he should return home so that they can jointly take care of the babies, even as she called on the Oyo State governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, to come to the aid of the babies in whatever ways he deems fit. She also appealed to Nigerians generally to come to her rescue.
According to the pastor of the Oladunnis, Evangelist Olawumi Abiola of Emmanuel Anglican Church, Ijaye Orile, Akinyele Local Government, Ibadan, “Mrs. Iyabo Oladunni started complaining of stomach pain for a very long time and had used some medications. When she told me that the pain persisted, I persuaded her to undergo a medical test in order to get to the root of the stomach pain.
After the test, she discovered that it was pregnancy and I told her that she should go and register in a hospital outside Ijaye. She obeyed and came to register at Adeoyo State Hospital. I can’t afford to lose her as I lost another member of the church about two years ago.”
Evangelist Abiola also spoke about the committment of the Oladunnis, especially the wife owing to the fact that women are generally committed to the work of God. He also expressed his gratitude to God for keeping the four babies and their mothers alive. “I implore Nigerians to come to our aid, most especially considering the future of these children. The responsibility cannot be carried by an individual more so that the parents live in a village; there is no money in the village.”
Also speaking, the mother-in-law, Madam Moyiola Oladunni, said, “I’m very happy for this miraculous work of God. When God gives me this blessing, I can’t question him, but my major concern is how to take care of these blessings because it’s not a one-man responsibility.”

Una don start again ba?????

barely three months after the reported birth of a baby with a mini-Quran in Mushin area of Lagos State, another oddity has occurred in Sagamu, Ogun State as a woman was said to have delivered a baby boy with an Islamic rosary, otherwise known as Tesbeu.

The boy was delivered on Tuesday at Rotoluwa Maternity Home along Aiyepe Road at about 11.45pm.

Mrs. Gbemisola Hamsat, a 35-year-old mother of five, was said to have been delivered of the baby and the rosary.

Expectedly, the strange delivery has turned their 2, Odujoko Street, off Prison Road, residence into a Mecca of sorts as people thronged the area to confirm the tale.

The Matron of the Maternity Home, Mrs. Sarah Olurotimi Oloyede, a traditional birth attendant, confirmed that she took the delivery of the somewhat strange child.

Oloyede’s words: “I heard a sound of something dropping into the bed pan before the placenta came out.

“It sounded as if it was an iron or something with weight that dropped on it and when I checked it closely, I saw a rosary covered with thick blood.”

Mrs Oloyede said that when she took the rosary by the ‘tail’ to examine it properly, all the clotted blood on it fell off, leaving the shinning rosary.

A Christian, Oloyede said that she immediately invited her husband and some Muslim clerics in the area to come and behold the strange birth by her Christian patient.

According to her, the shout of “Allahu Akbar” (God is Great) rented the air as hundreds of people trooped in to behold what happened.

According to her, the rosary was not around the neck of the boy when he was delivered by her mother.

She explained that the birth of the boy was miraculous and mysterious because a patient who was on the hospital bed for over four days and was unable to walk and eat, immediately got up and walked, demanding for food, which she ate on hearing the cry of the new baby.

Oloyede said the boy held on to the rosary and did not allow anyone to remove it from him despite the fact that he was yet to open his eyes.

The baby’s mother said she is a Christian while her husband is a Muslim and expressed surprise at the development.

Father of the baby, 45-year-old Mr. Idris Hamsat, said the wonderful delivery of his son helped to confirm his faith in Allah, adding: “Allah is indeed righteous and good.”

Chief Imam of Remoland, Alhaji Anofi Adeyemi Allinson, who doubles as the Ogun State President of League of Imams and Alphas, likened the wonder birth to the visit of Prophet Musa to Medina where Allah sent his light to herald his visit.

Allinson said: “Almighty Allah is sending us signals and message, which we must all understand.

“First, it was about a baby born with a miniature of the Holy Quran and now a baby boy with Tesbeu.”

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) for Sagamu Area, Mr. Wale Lawal, was said to have led his officers and men to behold the mystery baby while prominent indigenes of Remo town were said to have also visited the hospital.

In his reaction, the Chief Medical Director of Ogun State General Hospital, Ijebu Ode, Dr. Wellington Ogunsanya, said there was no biological link of the story with the normal conception and baby delivery by a woman.

According to Ogunsanya: “Such claim could only be possible with the help of a third party who might have implanted the rosary into the woman while she was unaware.”

He said that such claims might be due to some women who inserted Intra-Uterine Device (IUD) through their vaginas into the uterus, adding that this may not necessarily disturb the growth of the baby.

Dr. Ogunsanya noted that in such cases, it was possible for the baby, during delivery, to hold on to or bring such an object out of the woman.

The CMD said that the case of a boy and a rosary being born by a woman had no correlation medically.
