Corper kofo......episode 22

(Kofo has been below the weather for a long time, and as such has not been able to go work, the doctor has advised she stays one more week at home  just resting and during this period , Yomi came from Lagos to see Kofo, on one of the occasions Yomi was there ,Mr. Osita happened to visit#goodbosstinz)

Kofo: ( Just lying on the couch watching Tv alongside my Aunt whom i normally call 'big mummy' we heard a knock on the door, it was Yomi)

Yomi: ah Big mummy ....good day ma

Big mummy: my son, how are you today?

Yomi: I'm very well ma'am.

Big mummy: eka'bo my dear..

(Yomi now turning towards me......)

Kofo: hey..

Yomi: how ae you feeling my love(asking as he plants a kiss on my forehead)

Kofo: (smiling like she won a lottery) I'm fine baby

(now big mummy is forming she wants to avail Yomi and I some privacy goes to the other living room)

Yomi: baby whats the title of this movie?

Kofo: 'act like a man ,think like a lady'

Yomi: hmmmm......(eyes rolling) ok oh!
( another knock on the door< big mummy goes for it and guess who it was? Mr. Osita !!!)

Mr. Osita : Good day Ma'am

Big mummy: Good day ,whom are you looking for?(big mummy sha remembered her British accent on this day....lol...she was speaking like it was some embassy interview...lmsao)

Mr. Osita: yes ma, i had like to see Kofo Daniels(at the mention of this ,Yomi's face changed),she's my staff.

Big Mummy: awww, you are welcome ,please come in

Kofo : good day Sir

Mr. Osita:  Kofo(with a huge smile) hope you're feeling better now, we have missed you so much at the office.

Kofo : i hope to be back next week sir

Mr. Osita: (now trying to give Yomi some attention) hello sir, I'm Mr. Osita ,Kofo's Boss

Yomi: hi I'm Yomi, Kofo's hubby to be(yes he had to emphasize ,a times Yomi amazes me sha,he just wants to prove a point)

Mr. Osita: (recognizing a competitor he had a grin on his face for some seconds ) oooohhh....its a pleasure meeting you.

Yomi: ( i expected Yomi to have said 'same here" but he just replied....) yea yea

Mr.Osita: Kofo i got you a few things (dropping a bag beside the couch where i was, i forgot my manners actually and went straight checking the bag and saw my favourite chocolate, and i said....)

Kofo: woooow! thank you sir,i can see my favourite chocolate( big mummy noticing Yomi's countenance said she was going to sahad stores to get a few things,so she left ,and mr. Osita left almost at the same time.)
Yomi: (giving me some strange looks asked)Kofo is there anything i should know?

Kofo: yes

Yomi: what???

Kofo: he's my boss, secondly i didn't invite him, he came on his own.

Yomi: stop playing smart with me< how come he knows your favourite chocolate?

 Kofo: Yomi.....haven't you heard of the word 'coincidence' ???

Yomi: don't be silly...we are going to be married soon...and some man acts like he knows you too well and i ask ,and you are trying to play smart with me????

Kofo: (at this point i could count Yomi's veins#angrymantinz) Yomi really?married? (now looking at my finger) sorry sir i can't find a ring on it

Yomi : ooooh shut the f....kup. we have come a long way, you should know i have plans,is it by ring?
Kofo: (not talking)

Yomi: (took my phone , went straight to my messages)sure you must have deleted your messages.....my advice is DON'T LET ME CATCH YOU, 'cause if i do ,Kofo you will eternally hate me.
(big mummy's call comes in......)

Big mummy: tell Yomi to wait for me i got something for you two

Kofo: OK ma.
(now turning to Yomi)
' big mummy said you should wait for her

Yomi: oh yes i will wait for her, nonsense!!!

Corper Kofo........Episode 21

Very early on Thursday morning i got to work looking all smart and radiant, i noticed all the customers coming in were virtually looking like capsules(my bad) dressed in red, like its some uniform day thing, i just managed not to burst out laughing  and kept on telling them they looked very nice(hian*)....my operations manager wasn't left out of the capsule looks, as red was the in thing that fateful FAlentine(ibadan people pronunciation) day. At about 10 am i got a cake from an unknown person(ofcourse i knew it was Mr Osita at it again) .....hmmmmm said my operations manager ' Kofo aka no dull moment , you already got a cake,sure today is gonna be fun filled*winking at me' i just gave her a smile.the inscription on the cake  read 'Baby i had love to pamper you today' so the guys in the back office kept talking about this.....it was just fun jare............. ! 10 minutes later i got an sms  from Mr Osita,

   'hiya....hope you liked the cake?'

Kofo: yes its really cool.

Later  that day at about 5pm , Mr Osita said i have to attend the regional retail meeting in CBD Branch(WATTTTTTT!!!! WTH!....I gave it a second thought and knew it wasn't really a meeting,it was an official way of starting our supposed valentine date ), at 5pm , he asked the branch driver to take me to CBD and that he would meet us there, he rode in his personal car, on getting to CBD, he told the branch driver that he could go back to the branch, after the driver left , he asked to come into his car ( which i did) he drove to a spa after being pampered in the Spa and feeling all refreshed, we headed to some place very close to that Nepa(abi phcn)office in maitama, i still didn't get  the drift , he entered a compound(na so dem dey take person do rituals ba? abegy shut up firt make u read this story finish) it was a very serene compound , we were ushered into a part of the building regarded as the VIP section , there were red roses on the floor and a table for two,amazing lighting (hmmm,who would ever know this was what this place was meant for???) we were served wine first and then food and Mr Osita was mumbling some love words though but sincerely i didn't hear nothing, the food was too nice  that it took all my attention(yea i love food,like you don't) ,i was just answering yea like i heard a word he said(LoL),he handed over to me a parcel(not telling what was inside*tongue out*)...........we later joined some other people for karoke on the other side of the house, it was an amazing evening, wow!!! i didn't regret hanging out with him that night.

   On our way to drop me off, he was asking if i really wanted to go home???......shuuuuu!!! of course why won't i want to go to my house? because i had a nice evening? is it enough to sleep out?hahahahah now that's a laugh.well we got to my gate and errmmmmm at least i had a nice day ,he deserves a hug right?(i am actually not asking y'all) i gave him a warm hug that he literally refuse to let me go and after wards just as i was trying to unhook the seat belt, he went for my lips and we kissed deeply(for the records Mr Osita is a good kisser#note),this wasn't premeditated but it felt good.I got down and headed to the house, couldn't even look at his face.

The following day was a Friday,i had to send a mail to the operation manager i will be coming a little bit late to work( i be corper na, u nor fit sack me), on getting to work at 9am, the operations manager was teasing me and she went;
....Kofo why couldn't you resume early? was it too much of valentine stuff?(she smiled)
I just smiled and noticed Mr Osita was going up the staircase smiling ,he later credited my Zenith bank account with N200,000 (of course he doesn't like to send me money using our own bank). hmmm, i kinda feel guilty,#Yomi.........i hope i am not carried away!

Corper Kofo --------Episode 20

The CEO of JNX was nice to us that day. He however asked us to come back the following day to complete his account opening form and also get a cheque to that effect. We were so elated that Goke suggested we call Mr. Osita out rightly to let him know everything went well, but of course I asked him to take some chill pills, that I had some other places to go to and I needed to make use of the car ,he agreed.

I asked the driver to take us to area 2,I needed to see Mrs. Douglas ,a customer of ours whose daughter is getting married and I was able to convince to allow me supply the ‘asoebi’( of course Man shall not live by bread alone ,lol),so we got to Mrs.Douglas’s house and she even gave me an advance payment.

On our way back to the office ,I started getting some funny pings from Mr.Osita asking sup with Valentine, if I had plans(e be like say all the old women wen dey this man village don de use him picture fan themselves ,hmmm) I told him I had no serious plans, as the celebration falls within the Lenten season(fasting period) but I will be going to visit prisoners and probably visit old people’s homes……….. (I think this got him vexed) and he goes…..

“You’re kidding me right”?

Kofo: Naaahhhh, I’m serious

Mr. Osita:  I’m talking of plans for you and I and you are there forming Mother Teresa of calcuta

Kofo: That’s the issue with you, your mind set needs to be reconfigured

Mr.Osita: Ooooh! Come off it, I’m not some computer accessories

Kofo: Well that’s what I intend doing,you should give it a thought ,it’s going to be fun .

Mr.Osita:  Why am I finding it difficult to believe you, oooohh ok that your small boyfriend is in town right?

Kofo: Oh please I take exceptions to that, small or big….that’s my choice

Mr Osita : Kofo,we have dragged this issue for too long, why not give me a chance, you know I can get you retained after your NYSC ,moreover you’re almost through with your NYSC program, you should be thinking of that hun

Kofo: Thanks but I have decided to to go for my masters after my NYSC, .so you see that won’t be necessary.

At this point he stopped pinging, I felt relieved a little because sincerely I was beginning to have some feelings for this man, but the God of Yomi won’t let it materialize(Lwkmd)

It’s a Monday morning and of course I got to work very early , adjacent the staircase is a restroom , so I got in to do my makeup and afterwards was just appreciating my beautiful self( #things that’s girls do though…smh!)and I said to myself ‘Kofo you are wonderfully and beautifully made’( yes I am one Yoruba girl you can’t pass by and not give a second look,yea God was in a generous mood while creating me) not knowing Mr.Osita was standing close by ,he said” Kofo you’re really endowed and you need somebody like me to treat you right’ in shock I couldn’t say a word I immediately took my make up purse and ran away like a kid being pursued by a dog……

Corper Kofo_____Episode 19

(Could it be that I am falling head over heels in love with Mr. Osita ?how come Yomi is around and the thoughts of Mr. Osita can’t get off my head. Oh c’mon Kofo don’t be silly ,he has nothing to offer, he’s just in some situations, I know ,but I can’t help it either) OOOOHHHH!!! Sorry guys, was just thinking aloud.

  Of course, Yomi left on Saturday evening after much pleading with him to stay till Sunday fell on deaf ears(now he wants to show me he’s really angry or what?) . I called him on Sunday night to give him his usual bedtime blues(winks***) but he wasn’t picking his calls until I pinged him and massaged his ego ,we made up and for the first time Yomi was scared of losing me, he said “Kofo mi(my Kofo) please do not allow the devil take away what we share ,we have come a long way, gone through a lot ,please I beg you in God’s name ,don’t give the devil a chance ,no matter what’(now, Yomi has become very religious, hmmm, when a guy starts talking this way he’s becoming very responsible and has his eyes on #altertinz, OKKK, don’t be deceived, not all of them).

  On Monday morning , Mr Osita came to the office looking like he fought with the devil in his dreams ,but who cares ,we all fight some battles in our everyday life right? but his is pathetic, he looks really bad, Twenty minutes after his arrival he called on Goke and myself ;

Mr. Osita: The two of you will go for a meeting on my behalf in central area, we are trying to get the major account of JNX company, please try to convince the CEO to open this account and please I am really expecting positive results from you two.

Goke & Kofo:  Yes Sir.

Mr. Osita: Meanwhile Kofo ,how was your weekend ?

Kofo: very well Sir.

Mr. Osita: of course your looks says it all (he winks at me) you look elegant though.

Kofo: (smiles) thank you sir.

(Obviously, this man saw assistant devil, because if he saw the real devil he won’t be winking at me this morning)

So myself and Goke set out, I noticed was smiling for no just cause and so I was forced to ask;

Kofo: Goke what’s with the plenty smiles*abi your girlfriend don carry belle*

Goke: LWKMD!!! *abeg make she nor carry belle ooh, eye de red* But Kofo you won’t deny you don’t know Mr. Osita has a crush on you

Kofo: OH really?

Goke: c’mon spare me the pretence, its obvious! He couldn’t even hold it today, in my very before he was winking at you.

Kofo: Goke!!! C’mon winking at me meant nothing really, you of all people should know Mr. Osita likes to see ladies well dressed, sure he was just appreciating what I am wearing.

Goke: Ok oh.

Kofo: Yea, so stop having ideas. Ok we are here now Goke,I heard the CEO of JNX is a lousy old man, I hope he gives us the attention we deserve.

Goke: I hope so too.

Corper KOFO......Episode 18

Was totally amazed by the speed with which it happened and to think that he just smiled and walked away like he didn’t do anything ………..this guy is just a little rascal.

  I have been sort of shy around him and guess what? He’s been all smiles like he won a trophy.

On Friday morning, my Yomi had an impromptu meeting alongside four of his colleagues in Abuja, so he called me at around 8am to say his just arrived Abuja and will be leaving be leaving the following day because he needed to see me .

  At around 4pm (that’s an hour 30 mins to close of business) I got an sms from Mr Osita;

     ‘Hey, do you have plans for tonight?’

My reply…

‘Yes I do, have plans.’

Mr. Osita,

   ‘Can I fit into your plans?

Kofo;

  ‘Nope! A good friend of mine is around and I need to see him’

Mr. Osita;

  ‘ LOL, Kofo what is it that this guy gives you that I can’t give you????Just give me 10% of the attention you give him and see what I am capable of ‘

Kofo;

  ‘pls don’t start ,this isn’t up for debates, he’s in town and I need (NOT WANT) to go see him, period!!!

At about 5,30pm,Yomi was in front of my office waiting so we could leave to his place, when Mr. Osita remembered I had to arrange the hard copy files on savings account that the auditors made use of…..

OMG!!! well I started and fortunately a colleague came by to give a helping hand and we finished  in no time ,I left the office 6.15pm ,Yomi had to wait for 45min(a guy has to always wait, right?) and wasn’t smiling(of course ,I won’t too) we got to the hotel where Yomi lodged at 6.30pm.

After dinner ,Yomi started complaining about the fact that I don’t give him the usual attention(why is everyone looking for attention though, what you can’t do continuously for a guy ,don’t start because when you stop you’re cheating on him #morallesson) , he said;

    ‘ Kofo , you hardly call these days ,even when you see my missed calls ,you don’t deem it fit to return my calls, what is happening???? Are you seeing some guy????

KOFO: C ‘mon baby, how can you even imagine that, you remain my one and only Yomi, it’s just the pressure from work

(At this point he got really upset)

YOMI: oh pls don’t patronize me! Pressure from work you said, have you changed your place of primary assignment? So what? When you started you were not like this ,so what has changed? Kofo I really am tired of the lackadaisical approach you give to issues concerning us, I really want to settle down, I don’t know about you…….

KOFO: Yomi I am very sorry and I promised we are gonna be better.

(At this point his phone rang it was Tunji his friend and colleague)

Tunji: Guy sup

Yomi: M good

Tunji: We are going to the movies, you wanna come?

Yomi(he asked if it was cool with me, and I said yes) yea, but hope you don’t mind my coming with Kofo?

Tunji: sure, it’s cool, meet us downstairs.

Dele Giwa’s mother dies at 87

Elekia Giwa, the mother of Dele Giwa, the journalist who was killed in 1987 by a parcel bomb during the heady days of the military junta, is dead.

Mrs. Giwa, 87, passed away at about 5 a.m. on Tuesday at a hospital in Ikorodu, Lagos.
May her gentle soul rest in peace ,amen. #May God console the family..
