Professor Barth Nnaji resigns.......................

In a move aimed at salvaging the reform and privatisation programme of the power sector, President Goodluck Jonathan Tuesday in Abuja accepted the resignation of one of the key members of his cabinet, Professor Bart Nnaji as Minister of Power, with immediate effect.
The president, who in a press statement by his Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, thanked the former minister for his services to the country and wished him well in his future endeavour, was said to have decided to accept the resignation, following Nnaji’s admission that companies linked to him had submitted bids for one of the successor companies created from the unbundling of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).

Prince Harry deletes facebook account after nude photos scandal

Don’t expect to “like” any more nude photos of Prince Harry any time soon. William’s younger brother has deleted his personal Facebook account amid the fallout from the scandal that rocked Buckingham Palace last week when pics of the playboy prince playing a game of strip pool in Las Vegas were splashed all over the Internet. Harry has deactivated his private profile on the social media site, which he kept for the past year under the pseudonym Spike Wells, “because of all the Vegas drama. No more Facebook for Harry for a while. He'll probably come back online in the future, but, for now, he's been advised to go offline.”
The 27-year-old royal had 400 friends, according to The Daily Beast, and would often comment on photos and updates from his pals, including one by the name of Arthur Landon, who just last week posted a pic on his public profile of Harry passed out in the sand during a recent trip to Necker Island, although he had obstructed his face. In another photo Landon uploaded of a suitcase containing a gas mask and a purple bong, “Harry” commented “good luck.” In Spike Wells’ “about me” section, he described himself as from Maun, Botswana, a town he visited in 2007 with then-girlfriend Chelsy Davy, with an interest in “all sports.” Previously, his profile image was of a red-headed child with their hand on their head with “Oh my God, I’m ginger” spelled out above it.
On Monday, Prince Harry had to report back to Royal Air Force Wattisham base for the first time since his Sin City escapades – and he’s expected to be reprimanded by Lieutenant Colonel Thomas de La Rue and the Head of Army, General Sir Peter Wall. "This is pretty serious," a senior military source tells Us Weekly. "General Wall is a tough guy to make excuses to. He won't let Harry get away with just a light ticking off."
Whatever General Wall tells Harry, we’re sure it can’t be much worse than what his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II and father Prince Charles had to say when they had a sit-down with him last Thursday at the family’s Balmoral Castle in Scotland!

Semi-nude women seek equal rights to bare chests on “Go-Topless Day” in New York

Some topless women protested in a New York City park on a hot, sweaty Sunday as part of what they called “National Go-Topless Day” to draw attention to inequality in topless rights between men and women.
There were topless men in the park, too, but nobody paid them much attention, a disparity, organizers said, that demonstrated the need for the event.
The topless women drew crowds of onlookers who took pictures and video with their cell phones.
“We say there is nothing wrong with the female nipple,” Karen Heaven, an organizer of the event, told the crowd that quickly formed around her in Manhattan’s Bryant Park. She was wearing white pants and not much else besides a purse over her shoulder. “My dog has six, I have two, but I can be put in jail for showing my nipples. It’s 2012 — what are we thinking?”
It is legal for women to go topless in public in New York City but laws vary widely across the United States. Heaven and her colleagues say discrimination is unconstitutional and they want full equality.
Similar protests were scheduled in about 30 U.S. cities and 10 around the world, organisers said.
The annual Go-Topless Day was established in 2007 by a former sports car journalist called Rael, who founded a religion called the Raelian Movement after he said he was visited by a space alien in a French volcano park who told him life on Earth was created by extraterrestrial scientists, according to an account on his website.
Occasional references to alien creators did not seem to register with the crowd, which focused mostly on the breasts.
“I’ll show these to a few friends and then delete them after a few days,” Rudy Sison, a New Yorker who happened to visit the park on Sunday, said as he thumbed through photographs and video he had just taken on his phone. “They’re topless.”
Several women waved signs saying: “Equal Topless Rights For All.”
After the speeches, a guitarist led the crowd in a reworking of The Beatles’ song “Let It Be.”
“Let ‘em breathe,” people sang. “Let ‘em breathe.”
.......Hmmmm ,now i don't know what to think about this women....huh???

The younger sister  who simply identified herself as Iya Subomi, said the deceased was declared missing on Saturday when she left her son’s house without trace.
I am also very sure that she is not in debt, which keeps me in the dark over why she decided to take her life
“She was strong-minded five years ago when her husband died and now that she had pushed through the difficult times, it will take God to say why she did this,’’ she said.

Nigerian girl diagnosed with breast cancer at age 11

A medical mission in Anambra has detected breast cancer in an 11-year-old girl, according to one of its officials.

The mission, sponsored by the Anambra Indigenes Association in the U.S., has been providing free medicare to the people of the state in various localities since its arrival on Aug. 6.

The coordinator of the team, Mr. John Obegolu, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Nteje, Oyi Local Government Area, that the girl had been slated for surgery.

Obegolu said the detection solved a mystery around the girl, whose parents had concluded that she had a spiritual attack.

He said that most of the health issues being experienced by Nigerians could be avoided if they were well-informed.

He said that it had become necessary to teach local women the need for early breast cancer detection and prevention to enhance their healthcare.

Obegolu said the association was determined to effect changes in all aspects of healthcare for the people of Anambra.

Also speaking with NAN, a member of the team, Mrs Nkem Aboh, advised women to go for mammogram test, a procedure that uses radiation to diagnose the internal parts of the body.

Aboh said the amount of radiation was very small compared to the benefits of detecting breast cancer on time.

She said that only between five per cent and 10 per cent of breast cancers was caused by genetic disorder.

Aboh said women of any age could be diagnosed with breast cancer, saying, however, that older women had higher incidence than younger ones.

Student stabs his friend to death over internet modem

A student of Federal Polytechnic, Auchi in Edo State (names withheld), suspected to be a cult member, has stabbed a 300-level student of the Department of Business Education, Delta State University, Abraka, Solomon Onyeoghani, 24, to death in Warri.

The 29-year-old suspected cultist allegedly killed his friend with a broken bottle on suspicion that he stole his internet modem and went into hiding after the theft.

The sad incident occurred at a house on Osamede Street, Okumagba Avenue, Warri, Delta State, weekend.

Source said the suspect laid siege to Solomon’s house and pounced on him, while he was heading to his mother’s shop.

It was gathered that Solomon took to his heels on sighting the suspect, but the suspect chased and stabbed him severally on the neck and other parts of the body.

Sympathisers were said to have rushed the victim to the hospital, who was abandoned in a pool of blood, to a nearby clinic, but he gave up the ghost before help could come.
At the residence of the victim’s parents, yesterday, his mother was seen weeping while were sympathisers consoling her.
She called on government to bring the killer of her son to book.

Her husband, Mr. Augustine Onyeoghani and the only surviving daughter bore a look of melancholy.
Mr. Onyeoghani said: “The problem started on Tuesday when my son told me what happened. I went to Chukwuka’s father to tell him because we are neighbours and we come from the same local government (Ika North East). The father promised to call his son to order. I personally called him (Chukwuka) on phone and he told me that he was not around. When he eventually came on Friday, he came to my house and the only thing he came to tell me was that he was going to kill my son. This happened around 4:30pm.”

“Not up to one hour that the boy left, Solo returned from College of Education Warri, where he is running a programme in Business Education, Delta State University Abraka programme. Immediately he (Solo) came in, he told me that his sister was calling him from the store. Not up to 20 minutes that he left the house, someone came to tell me that Solomon was dead. I did not know that the boy meant to kill my son. They did not fight. The boy rushed out from nowhere and started stabbing him with broken bottle. He stabbed him severally on the neck.”

Mr. Onyeoghani accused the mother of suspect of not helping matters, saying it was in her presence that her son rushed out to attack his son, alleging “The mother of Chukwuka did not help matters at all. It was in her presence that his son was threatening to kill my son and she said nothing.

She even threatened to go to their village to swear juju if my son refuse to bring out the modem. However, my son said he did not steal any modem. They just killed my son for nothing. The boy has since run out of town, but I know he cannot run forever. All I want is for the law to take its course. My son cannot just die like that.”
